Overtheroad heat

I have a 97 Magna with propane furnaces. The rear furnace heats the bay with the water tank and system. How do I keep this system from freezing while traveling or do I have to run the rear furnace on the road? I never have run a propane furnace while driving. Also, does your dash heater warm the coach adequately in 0 to 15 degree weather? I live in IA and hope to leave after the holidays and expect to have some cold days on the road.

If it gets too cold, we run the coach propane furnaces while on the raod. The dash air doesn' heat more than the immediate area by the driver and passenger. Be aware, if you get freezing rain, the defroster won't be adequate to keep the large windshiled clean. Safe travels!

(snip) Our old '00 Winnebago Class C motorhome had a system whereby engine coolant not only supplied heat to the very efficient dashboard heater, but to the water heater and a rear auxiliary heater. To supply heat to the storage bays, we simply ran the furnace in a recirculation mode while the coolant heating system was on and it distributed the heat from the motorhome's interior into the bays. It worked ... although we didn't spend a lot of time in freezing temp to test its limit. I haven't checked to see if our Intrigue's furnace can be run in a recirculating mode yet but will do so before we leave for Florida in a few weeks. The source of interior heat will be the rooftop heat pumps powered by the genset and a little input from the dashboard heater.

I also had a Winnebago that had the auxiliary heater. It worked great to keep the coach warm on the road. I don't know why these coaches don't have them. The heat pumps won't work below 40 degrees so that option is no good. I guess I'll have to run the rear furnace although I don't like the idea of it. I can't just run the fan on the furnaces either. The controller doesn't give me that option. Thanks for the suggestions.
