Hi Mike - I'll follow this thread with interest. And yeah, I should call and talk with Butch about our unit too...
No, I have no knowledge on if the resistor change over will help your problem.
Your problem is a bit different then ours.
Our driver side OTR AC and fan work as they should. Our passenger side came back from the shop from the last work, with a new problem. (And, the passenger side switch that controls temp and fan speed, may have been impacted, as the shop installed another switch in the same wood cabinet for a different item. It was apart, and who knows some wires came loose or if the switch was damaged somehow.) The four black AC vents on the passenger side, only have one that has air blowing out and responding to the fan passenger switch fan speed changes. The top right, as you are sitting in the passenger seat, works. the lower right, and the two vents towards the center of the coach, all have not AC or fan air flow coming thru them. I've poked around back behind and in the dash looking for loose wire connections, with no luck. I think I found the area that you're talking about where you will change out the resistors, over towards the center their seems to an air manifold, with wires and electronic components on it. When I pull the small wood cabinet out that is in the dash in front of the passenger, I can get good access to that, as well as the hydro hot register that is right below the cabinet.
I wish you luck, and will follow this thread. Suppose I'll need to call Butch and start the process with his guidance to diagnose what is wrong with our passenger side OTR. It has been hot a few times on this trip, and we're in Sioux Falls now, with temps in the low 90's - and the city is still drying out from the week ago 8" of rain in one hour!! So, quite a bit more humid then this guy likes:)! (Keep thinking and joking about he commercial that says 'It's like a saauunnnaaaaa (sauna) out their...' Heck, I've said 'It's like s steam room out their!':(!)
We usually run the generator and rear roof AC's when traveling. with the rear AC doing most of the work, to avoid the loud fan nice of the front AC, when traveling in hot weather. The front OTR does a good job on keeping us relatively cool when traveling, but we then find it takes longer then we like to cool down a coach that has had heat build up all day while traveling. With there rear AC doing 90% of the work for us, figure the full consumption of the generator vs OTR is about the same.
Best of luck to you!!!
