NEWBIE with questions

I am a new owner of a 2006 Allure 470 SUNSET BAY.  I have been following this group for a couple of weeks now.  I appreciate the level of expertise and suggestions that come forth. I took delivery of my coach on Saturday afternoon.  During the walk thru I noticed the refrig was not cold.  I asked if it was working.  The respone was that it was working this morning.  And the engine battery was dead.  They took the coach over to a bay and had a couple of techs working.  They replaced a battery cable connection that was stripped.  While the engine was running, they got the refrig working.  Off we went headed home.  Stopped at a rest area just to use the bathroom.  Turned off the coach and a chirping noise began.  The refrig was giving an error code but the chirping noise was coming from the LP Detector.  Turned off the LP detector, reset the refig to AC and off we went again.  Got home, turned off the engine all seemed well.  Exited the coach turned off the house battery switch and the LP detector started to chirp again.  So what am I doing wrong and how do I keep a refrig running whether on propane or electricity?  Thank you in advance.

The refer always has to have 12 vdc as does the LP detector to remain operational.  So you can't turn off the house batteries with the salesman switch by the front door.    Also if your house batteries  are low when you turn off the engine and the source of power from the Alternator is removed and the voltage drops  then your alarm will go off and the refer will shut down.  So it seems to me your house batteries are in need of charging or replacement.  Does the refer work with the shore power connected?  If so, it further makes the case the batteries are low.    What does your battery control panel say about the condition of your batteries?  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731.

The LP detector will beep when the 12 V is turned off then back on, you need to rest by turning the detector off for about 30 seconds then back on, it should beep for a few seconds then stop and the front light will flash.  Make sure your house batteries are OK.  If you have your coach plugged in to shore power there should be around 13 V on your batteries if there is power to the charger (even if your batteries are weak or bad). If you have nothing else on, 15A AC should run the charger (depending on how you have it set up).  Couple of ways to check the batteries, charge them and check the specific gravity or charge them, check the voltage then turn on a heavy DC load, inverter on AC to inverter off, put a load on the inverter, 1000 W will result in a 80+ A load on the batteries and look at the battery voltage and see how fast it falls.  A fully Charged T105 should sustain a 70 A load for over 105 minutes.  Not sure what batteries you have for house batteries but you can google the specs.
 If you change your house batteries consider golf cart batteries, they are probably the least expensive of the types out there.  I've had T105's and T125's last 7 years.  Golf cart batteries are usually speced at 1000+ deep cycles where the standard marine type deep cycle are around 400 deep cycles, look at the specs.  Most golf course use Trojan batteries.  Sam's Club has about the best price.  The Sams 8D battery is made by Interstate, not sure who makes their golf cart batteries.
