Question on Powertech Generator Internal start switch

Does the internal start switch of the Powertech work the same way as the external one? Specifically, if you hold down the "stop" side of the rocker switch, does it operate the priming circuit?

My gasoline generator on my previous rig worked that way, but can't figure out if this one does too.

Our 1995 Unit has two rocker switches. One is start and preheat.
The other is stop and something? (memory fails).

The start switch downward rock is preheat to be held for 15 seconds every time the unit is started, even on warm days.

Yes, in the Powertech instructions in our '96 Intrigue it says to hold the stop side down as you describe to allow the glowplugs to heat as with the engine. I can look tomorrow to see when and how long to hold it.

Yes, I saw those directions for the outside switch but wasn't sure whether they also applied to the inside switch. I believe the proper hold time is something on the order of 30 seconds. Does that sound about right?

Alright, I just checked the intructions from the manual and it says to always preheat the glowplugs by holding the switch in the preheat/stop position for 15 seconds if the temp is above 32 and for 30 seconds if the temp is below 32. It also says NEVER hold it more than 30 seconds because that can cause damage to the glowplugs. It also says should you switch to generator power while hooked to shore power to turn off the air conditioners for at least 60 seconds prior to starting the generator and also to wait at least 60 after you start the generator before turning on the a/c's because the load that the a/c's pull is great and its hard on the generator to adjust.

Thanks, Tammy, those are the instructions I have as well. I just didn't get a clear indication from mine that this applied to the inside switch, the one that is mounted above the stove, as well. As a general precaution, I always shut down the AC units or any other heavy load before starting a generator. Never have started one when still hooked to shore power.
