Couple of questions

Yahoo Message Number: 108795
Hi all, I have a question about a couple of things.

1.Been having trouble with the roof Satellite antenna getting a good strong single at times. Even when I believe that a strong signal should be found and good to go. I even have downloaded Or upgraded the system. Taking off the old antenna and installing a new one costs in the Neighborhood of $2000.

So I was wondering, there is a coaxial cable outlet in the first large storage area. What is your Thought of using this as an input signal source to the cable box. Meaning that I trace this wire To inside of the cabinet and take it off as an output and screw it into the incoming side of my Satellite Direct TV box. Then buying a portable satellite dish so I can move it from any trees, bushes or Shadow of any tree. Any thought or ideas that it will or will not work?

2.For those who changed their shocks for the new "Koni" SP-3, since they are adjustable, what number did you find the best for your coach. Would like to have them installed when I purchase new tires this coming year. Just curious. I have a 2007 Allure 40' with Tag.

Thanks.

Dave

Dave,

Sure your idea will work, but why not use the Cable TV input on the driver side of the coach.

Craig,

Not sure if that lead goes to the area behind the AV Box.
Also, on occasions I would want to see if I could get local channels for weather and such.
But I will keep that in mind.
Thanks

Dave

Just curious....Where do you think the lead goes? Does your AV box have switches allowing you to select cable, sat or air ant for each TV set? So if you get the signal from a remote sat antenna & hook it into your cable outlet outside, can you not select cable and get a satellite signal? Seems logical but I have never needed to try it.

Oh....of course you would have to go thru a satellite receiver box before hooking to your outlet outside. Right? D Jean

I would post this question on http://www.rv.net and you might get more answers. I was under the impression that we could not hook up a satellite to the cable input in our outside bay. Something about the type of cable? Since yours is a newer coach that might not be the case.

Hi Dave,

We have used the cable-in connection in the bay to bring in the signal from a Directv satellite that we have on a tripod. It works quite well.

I should have mentioned there are changes that need to be made but it is very doable. We are currently living in our RV inside our barn while our stick house is being remodeled.
