leak behind driver seat from slide

Going to try rain gutters but can only get either 10' or 50' Does anyone know where I can get 15' of rain gutter. I can splice but would like to get one piece if possible. Does anyone have a better idea to stop this leak from the edge of the slide.
Thanks

Bob,I had a leak in same place on our 2000 magna 36 'found the drain was stop up at bottom of slide, went to 2 orther shops to have it fix, just cost more money, no fix.I found the problem my self, and i made a small rain gutter out of stannless steel about 4" long and put it above slid. Any questions you can give me a call. Charles 5886 828=2736099

Bob, PM me with your phone number and I'll walk you through what the problem most likely is. I had the same problem and it has nothing to do with gutters. Tell me where you are so I don't call you at 2 in the morning.

Hey Don. Can you post an email as to your experience? We have a new to us, 2000 Allure 30476. I had a leak in the same place. I have done quite a bit of re sealing but I think it is still getting damp.

Thanks,
Joe

There is a trough/drain hose at bottom, forward part of LR slide right behind the driver's seat. With the slide in, You can access the trough by removing three screws on the slide "curtain" attached to the wall behind the driver's seat. You can then clean the 5" trough and perhaps shoot air through the drain line attached to the trough to clear it out. A quick fix may be to shoot air through the bottom of the drain hose running down behind the driver's front tire. I successfully used this method for the BR slide where trough access was not readily apparent. The BR drain hose runs behind the driver's back tires.

Larry is correct. On mine, its a combined cup and roller (weird). What happens is, the cup is not properly sealed to the wall and water then goes past the cup onto the floor. It isn't easy to get in there to repair. Or the cup or drain hose become clogged and the cup floweth over. That can be cleaned with air up the drain hose (try that first). My coach had this leak for a long time. Since Chris Synder fixed it years ago, its totally dry even in the heaviest downpours.

I have a 2000 36' Intrigue with the same leak behind drivers seat at bottom corner of slide. I cannot locate the 3 screws to access a trough. Does anyone know if the Intrigue has a bottom trough and if so, how to access it? I had the rubber seal/gasket replaced on that side of the slide out but did not fix the leak. Thanks all.

It appears to be a leak but actually is the carpet laying in the trough...soaking up the water. Pull the carpet out from that corner. Trust me the leak will be gone.

The three screws are in the wood strip holding the slide partition/curtain to the wall on my coach.

How about an 05 Inspire? I have had slide leaks since purchase 5 years ago. I have been to Alliance Coach, and Fountain RV, supposedly CC gurus. None of them have had any success. Both drivers side and passenger side have problems. Any ideas?

Tom,

I also have a 2005 Inspire. I don't have any leaks around the slides or any other place for that matter.
That being said, I suggest you take a look at the aluminum angles located at the bottom of both ends of each slide.
They were originally held in place from the factory using just silicone caulk.
Over time the caulk does crack and eventually delaminates from the slide. When this happens you WiLL have slide leakage.
Closely inspect each bottom angle, small cracks can still allow for considerable water penetration, re-caulk as necessary and your problem may be solved. If the angles are somewhat loose, I would remove them and reattach them using generous amounts of new silicone caulk.
Good Luck,
RJ

We have an 05 cc and the drivers side slide leaked very bad at the top. I used butyl tape on all the joints top, sides and no more leaks. You can get the tape in different colors to match what you have. Easy to install, use alcohol to clean surfaces and apply tape.

The stuff is bullet proof. Did ours 4 years ago and still no leaks. And we live in WA state.

Tom,

I had the very same problem. In addition to what RJ said, Premier Motor Coach in Tucson, screwed the aluminum angle at the bottom with 5 screws about 4" apart. I also put a new seal on the slide.

I also have the same problem of leak behind drivers side. I have a 2007 Intrigue. If you look in the small cabinet on the inside behind the drivers seat, that covers the chain drive, and lift the access panel, I have water running in the hollow aluminum tube, I have no idea where it is coming from. I thought it could be flowing in form outside ledge under slide out, but after putting a line of caulk it has not helped. It is also ruining the subfloor under the carpet in that corner. I looked for the "tube" behind the drivers wheel for the drain and could not see anything there. Any help???
