Savannah Ga trip

Yahoo Message Number: 104775
We are in Fort Myers Fl and heading to the FMCA rally in Perry. Would like to go to Savannah from March 26 to April 7th or there a bouts before going north to West Point New York for a May graduation then back to Montana for the summer.
Been looking, but haven't found any place to park. I would appreciate any help on suggestion of where we could park and what to see as this is our first trip in the eastern part of this great county.

Thanks in advance for your help

I recommend Redgate Farms Campground. It is a small, family owned park but convenient to the interstate system and minutes to downtown.

Craig, Be sure to enjoy brunch at Huey's on the river walk. The VERY BEST Beignets you'll ever eat especially with the warm praline sauce.
Don't miss the trolley tours through the historic downtown area. I recommend doing the daylight tour as well as the night tour where you'll hear about the Ghost of Savannah.

Take a close look at Red Gate Campground just outside Savannah. Quaint farm atmosphere with lake and trails for hiking. Close to downtown without to noise and traffic. Lots to do in Savannah.

Tried Redgate with our DP, but left after only one night and headed to Hardeeville RV Park for a 7 day stay. Redgate was very dusty, poor wi-fi, lot was far from level and had only dirt, and the sounds of the adjacent Interstate were a constant distraction. Hardeeville gave excellent access to downtown Savannah, had good wi-fi, good rates for 50 amp full hookup, and was peacefully quiet. Not fancy, but served as a good base for exploring. Have fun.

Skidaway Island State Park is the Best kept secret in Savannah . (I am from Savannah)! They have about 12 Fill hook up sites and they are All Huge pull thru with level gravel and a picnic table . Beautiful trees and easy access to all of Savannah . Be sure to dine at a Savannah institution , Johnny Harris on Victory Drive . Also for lunch , Spankys on River street . Best chicken and home made Spuds .

Craig, If your schedule allows, SECC (Southeast Country Coachers) has a rally scheduled for 3/11 to 3/15 at Buena Vista Motor Coach Resort in Orange Beach, AL. All Country Coach owners are invited to join us. This is a beautiful resort across the street from the beach (see their website for details). We would enjoy having you join us for a good time with GREAT seafood. See our websites for details.
