plugged black tank back flush

When I go to back flush my black tank, no water flows. I have searched the forum, and it seems the most popular solutions are to replace check valve or introduce white vinegar to dissolve hard water solids in the jets. Some fill the black tank with RidX to dissolve the hard water solids in the jets. What do you guys think? Where is the check valve located? Do I replace the check valve or take it apart and clean it? What would you guys do?

PS -- we have been on a lovely trip for the past few weeks, the coach has been running perfectly and all systems (except for this back flush) have been working great. I just wanted to make a positive comment on these great coaches!

Greg.....The spray head in your black water tank is stopped up with gunk. Very difficult to unstop.
In my case, I had my local tech put in a new rotating spray head. Very easy to do. Not expensive.

Really? Bummer... Well maybe I will try the RidX then. Some say to fill the tank with RidX and let it work on the nozzles for some time ( maybe a few weeks?). Some have done this twice and then the nozzles clear. I was hoping for something simple like a check valve or anti-siphon valve with easy access... I guess I could always go back to the good ole "hose through the bathroom window with the wand"... I thought I had moved on from that with this nice coach, lol...

The sure cure is to remove the nozzle and clean, and then drill the holes out one index drill size larger. The next thing is to access the nozzle. On my old Magna it was between the black and gray tanks and impossible to get to. On some models, there is a panel on the opposite side of your wash bay where the propane tank is if you have propane. It is screwed in place or has Velcro holding it. Usually, and I mean usually, the nozzle is mounted to the tank behind that panel and easy to get to.

Not sure how country coach did it, but Tiffin placed the back flush (sani flush) sprayers on the top of the black tank which you can see when I remove the the panel (door with no handle) on the passenger side just forward of the tag axle. I removed mine and found the white plastic valve attached to the hose leading over from the other side. It's not really a valve but more like an aerator on your bathroom sink faucet. I removed it and cleaned it and drilled out each hole with a slightly larger bit at the recommendation of Tiffin. This completely resolved my sani flush blockage.

I believe the check valve is in the very same connector you hook your hose to when you do the flush. I had one clog up with debris one time, cleaned it out and Walla, problem solved! Good luck!

I took my back flow valve out (was leaking). Before I start a trip I fill the black water tank about 1/4 full. I add dishwashing liquid to the tank to loosen up all the dried solids. While your driving the tank gets cleaned. At the destination I run the flush. If you don't run the flush every time you dump it will clog. I run a back flow preventer on the end of the hose used for flushing.

In future, if you do not have one already, make sure you have a screen on the Inlet to your flush connections. Otherwise particles and other junk in the water can clog the little holes in the flush head. I learned this the hard way.

Remove the spray head and drill it out one or two sizes larger. This has worked going on 5 or six years with no further issues.
