I would camp on either side of the Park and then using the toad take multiple trips and enjoy the park at your leisure. Sun rises and sunsets can be spectacular. Mountain sheep and goats, Marmots, Elk, Eagles and other critters are over the park during different hours of the day. Stop at the summit to shop and have lunch. The Altitude is up there so if your a flat lander spend 2 or 3 days to acclimate before entering the park. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

I live in Fort Collins and drive hwy 34 frequently. It is closing in October for repairs:

But if you go before Oct you will not have any issues, some incline, some passing lanes, but really no issues. After Oct 1 you would go up on hwy 36 through Lyons. Again no real issues, except for the increased traffic
