Member Stan Canaris - Keep good thoughts flowing!

We've been off the grid for about 5-6 days. Playing catchup, I saw an email from a mutual acquaintance of Stan Canaris, that Stan was in ICU with traumatic brain injury. This was as of 9/30/2016 - so is dated info.

Stan has always been a great CC Member, sharing his experiences and thoughts on many things CC. He has had some great posts about his Inspire. And besides all this coach stuff, Stan is well respected in the Chula Vista area of California. I've never met him in person, but he sure seems to be a great guy, and has made a difference in many lives. Good people - sure seems to fit Stan!

So please join me in adding him to your best thoughts, and or prayers!!

If I hear more, I'll update.

Best to all,

Smitty

Smitty, Thanks for the note regarding Stan Canaris. I wholeheartedly agree with you! he has been a great asset to the family of our forum.
I will keep him in my prayers knowing that he will be OK. Also, my heart goes out to support his family during this stressful time.

Jeanne and I spent a day with Stan and his wife when they were in Branson about three years ago. Stan fell ill and was in the hospital for a few days. They needed help to move their coach, which his wife could not manage. We volunteered to help, I drove the coach to another location and we assisted with other minor chores. When Stan was released from the hospital they showed their gratitude by taking us to dinner, where we had a grand time together.

They are wonderful people. He is in our thoughts.

Lee, I obviously missed the information on Stan Canaris. I've cked back and can't find any email re him. We spent time with Stan and Brenda in GA at our CC rally several years ago and then met them in Newport Beach CA. Lovely people. Thanks, Lee.

Hi Mary. Lee was referring to an incident in Missouri probably two years ago now, maybe a bit longer.

I had my BIL's FIL lined ready to go over and help move the RV. He had called to cancel an appointment, getting ready for final contact info and to drive over, before I could get the word to him that Lee had it covered.

And I did send my once removed contact a request for any updates.

Best to all,

Smitty

Thank you so much, Smitty. We are so grateful to know any of the CC owners we've had the pleasure to meet over our ten years of owning our 06 Inspire. Stan and Brenda are special folks, so I'm glad to know it's a two year ago situation for Stan. Please to you too, Smitty, thank you for the very interesting and always good posts you do for those of us on the blog who are glad to see them. Someday Mike and I hope to be in the same area you and your wife are at the same time!

Mary

My Chula Vista contact sent me an update today.

The family sent out a blog update that Stan had two milestones yesterday:

1) Stan celebrated his 78th Birthday. So good to go for another few decades with his coach:)!

2) Stan is working hard with what I call Physical Terrorists (He's in PT:)!) - and on his Birthday walked a good 20'.

So the family is upbeat! And no doubt, Stan is doing what he needs to get back out and going. Sure for his family (And all kidding aside, that is what it is all about!!!) - but I'm sure he is also looking forward to 'Heading over that next hill, round that next curve...'....

My best to all, and mostly to Sir Stan:)!
