Upscale RV Resort Near Mayo Phoenix

I would like to find an upscale RV resort near Mayo Phoenix, off AZ 101 for two or three days at a time, not months. I have searched the files and Destiny Edge and Apache Palms come up. The reviews both here and on line are not very positive. Does anyone have any other ideas?

We stay at Apache Palms as we have friends nearby in Tempe. The folks are friendly and the Park is clean, but the facilities are minimal/ Its not a resort. I wouldn't stay there during the summer because there is little shade and the pea gravel though nice doesn't absorb heat like grass would. Good shopping is a few miles away, source of diesel even further. But access can be an issue unless you follow directions given by the park. You have to approach from the East. It's unlikely that you will find such a resort with those specifications. As with other locations that experience rapid rises and falls of real estate values, potential RV park developers can't obtain competitively priced land in sufficient amounts to make an RV park profitable. Mayo Phoenix is in the heart of the Phoenix real estate boom-bust cycle area which is in a boom phase at the moment.

There may be something to the west but that takes you even further away from Mayo. I'm sure there must be others but the only "upscale" park I've seen in this part of Arizona is Palm Creek in Casa Grande and that's 70 miles south of Mayo. But then we have not been looking.

Have you looked around Carefree/Cave Creek? Fountain Hills?

We like Pioneer RV Resort just south of Anthem but it's definitely not upscale. It's handy for us and convenient to the things we enjoy.

Here's a pretty good RV park locator.

It is quite a ways west at El Mirage Rd and Bell Rd. It is Sunflower RV. We are staying there now until April. It is a nice park. There is also Happy Trails but it is probably another 10 miles west on Bell Rd Dave

Hello Shirley

I live in Scottsdale and am a patient at Mayo. There are no rv resorts that I know of near the Mayo at 56th St. and the 101 - is that the Mayo location that you are looking at?

Yes, that is the exact location. It is the new Mayo Phoenix. However, a reader here told me about a new boutique RV Resort near Love's just south of Phoenix proper. I will take a look at it the next time I am up there. For $74 a night it should be quite something don't you think?

We stay the winter in Apache Junction and ther are a lot of Parks in Mesa & Apache Junction.
Venture Out in Mesa is a very nice park with lots of amenities.

I will never stay again at Eagle View in Fountain Hills.

The park, The Motor Coach, (exit 162) on Nelson is across from the Wild Horse Casino, a outlet mall and lots malls in the area. I will not consider it for anything over 3 or 4 days.

Up I17 at Dear Valley their are 3 parks, one them is called the Purple something or other. A little tight but very near a shopping mall.

We have become annual members at Palm Creek, its about 30 minutes south on I10 (exit 194) from Wild Horse Casino.
