Starting Batteries

It appears that I'm going to have to replace my starting batteries. Mine are 6 years old.

Besides the Agm's. What is everyone who had to replace theirs
Going with??? Duracell, interstate or who

I go to the major truck parts and repair shops. They normally have gp31 and other truck engine start batteries in full pallet inventory and have great pricing.

Interstate is a major mfg, and many brands are really Interstate Just replaced ours with Interstate with 1400 CCA (cold cranking amps)

Battery cost was about $300.

Colton just put Centennial 1400 CCA maintenance free in my coach. With two of them, the engine spins like a drag boat! Colton said they won't install Interstate anymore as too many returns/warranty issues.

We have a single 8D for starter duty. Just replaced out battery earlier this year, and went with Lifeline Starter 8D battery, due to wanting to close of the basement egg crate floor from moisture and dust tossed up but the Drive and Tag wheels.

Prior to that, we had good performance from the Wet CAT 8D Maintenance Free Starter Battery. 1500CCA. And it was never too thirsty on watering, in our set up. If I had not wanted to seal things up some (Not air tight, but 95% less crud an no moisture detected.), I would have either got with two Wet CAT 8D MF's again.

I got the tip on the CAT 8D MF Starter battery, from a fellow CC member here - not positive who that was now:)! A good value. Not the lowest cost option, but much less then AGM 8D's, or X's 2 Grp 31 AGM's. 1500CCA is still a good/high CCA ratings for wet 8D's.

Normally I would say Interstate batteries, but they are expensive and the price didn't change when they dropped their warranty coverage. I tried something different I went with good but cheaper batteries USA which is only in the southeast as far as I know. I replace all the house batteries (4 8D's) together 4 years ago, I keep them service with no problems. If you want a stronger company to stand behind you flip the name to USA batteries they are all over the US and canada. In my limited experience big well known names expect to pay more. Which ever company you chose have them test each of the new batteries I went through 3 new interstate batteries one I put in myself didn't test and two days later not strong enough to start the coach. Two others we found at the shop tested bad before I left. I stopped using interstate because they didn't support the product like they use to.
