How to sell your coach

Yahoo Message Number: 112524
I was just reading a post from Danny Knight announcing that he had sold his coach and a reply from Mary Frederick asking how he successfully sold his coach. I just sold my coach to a nice couple from Alabama (we live near Atlanta) and thought I would relate my experience.

I used RV-Trader. My wife constructed a very nice narrative describing the coach's history and current condition using the maximum number of allowed characters. We then uploaded the maximum number of pictures allowed which was 50. These were all current pictures which showed the general condition of the coach. We submitted the ad on a Friday and by Monday, the coach was sold. We received many calls with a couple of offers for $900 less than our asking price sight unseen. The first couple that showed up to look bought the coach for a few hundred less than our asking price and drove it home.

I do recommend RV-Trader. It seems that there are a lot of prospective buyers out there looking for a Country Coach.

I highly recommend the Country Coach brand too. I didn't mean to sell it. The wife convinced me to drive my old pickup truck pulling a small travel trailer to Cody, Wyoming to visit some friends because she has always been afraid to drive it. I discovered that the trailer was way too cramped for me and traded it for an Airstream on the way out. We bought it from Bill Thomas Camper Sales in Wentzville, OH just west of St. Louis. That was the best buying experience I've ever had in my 69 years. Those people were great from top to bottom. If you're around the area, stop by.

Once we neared those "hills" out west, I discovered that my old Silverado wasn't quite up to the task. I kept hearing "Boy, you don't have enough truck!" I ended up buying a Ford F-350 turbo diesel to bring the rig home! That truck never seemed to know that it was pulling anything.

So, once I arrived home after my wife finally helping me drive, I decided to sell the Country Coach. Was the Country Coach more comfortable? Yes. Better quality? Yes. Should we have turned around and grabbed the Country Coach that was parked behind my house? Yes. BUT, the wife will help me drive this rig so we're not limited by how much I'm willing to drive each day.

Ken, thank you so much for your excellent post here. We are at least 4 years I hope from selling our coach, but then who knows really. We had an Airstream for a few years in order to be able to be at my brother's home to visit them much more easily, and we're glad we kept our CC Inspire, 06 all the while. Selling the Airstream through our dealer in Grand Rapids, MI, called Woodland Travel, was easy and we did pretty well on the money they got for our at the time only 5 year old trailer. Airstreams are so good!!! We'll possibly end up with one again when Mike decides he doesn't want to drive our big coach around. I sure do like the description of all you and your wife did to upload to RV-Trader. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for the response. We are selling our 2006 CC Inspire 360 and my brother-in-law suggests we get a 'broker', who will work to sell it for us for a fee. I have no idea how to find someone like that. We have been swamped with advertising agencies who want an up-front fee to "flood the market" with our ad. That's not what we want. We want an individual who will work like crazy to find us that buyer. We are headed to AZ, where our new stick house awaits us and we will then hand over the keys to the lucky new owner of this beautiful coach. Thanks for any and all replies!

I agree with RV Trader, sold my Alpine in one week, right place right time.
One comment the people that bought my coach said was how clean and well taken care of it was. They said there were some nice coaches out there but were dirty inside and other issues.
There are a lot of coaches out there, make yours stand out and price it right, it will sell.
People looking for CC's know what they want, list the details, tire age, battery age, engine details, pictures and more pictures, stage the interior so it looks nice, I've seen some ad's with clothes and junk laying around.
Post the build sheet if you have it.
I love my CC, good luck on the sell and your new house!
