House battery bank issue - need advice

Need some advice, CC'ers: We're in a new storage building, which doesn't YET have electricity (meter hasn't been installed by the power Co). I've been shutting off the house batteries with the "house batt" switch at the door when leaving the rig. But I'm still losing power. Most recently after 10 days the house side was virtually dead. Obviously something is still loading the house side even with the switch off. What am I missing??

Does your inverter pass through that switch or have a direct connection?

Make sure your inverter is off. Also turn off the engine battery switch which is located in the chassis battery compartment. I have been storing my coach with no power for years and the batteries will hold for up two months without discharging completely.

turn your inverters off. Otherwise your fridge and A/V equipment will draw on your batteries. Turn off your chassis battery switch too, along with house battery "salesmen" switch.

Parisicite draw. Unplug and turn off everything. I flip off the water heater at the fuse box. Broken (cargo) door switch lights can cause lights to be on with doors closed. Turn off charging and inverter.

Thanks for the inputs.

I've had several comments re: the inverter is still drawing power. Can anybody tell me how you turn the inverter off?? I have inverter function OFF by default at the monitor panel (I only turn it on when I need 120v when dry camping). But since the panel is still energized, obviously the unit is still on. Is it possible to turn the whole business off?

Also had some input re: "turn off the house battery switch". I've got a house battery BREAKER, which I understand is tripped by the house batt switch by the door. Can anybody tell me IF there is a house battery SWITCH (vs breaker) and where I'd go looking for it? I'm stumped...

Thinking I may need to install a disconnect switch in the battery bank neutral cable. Would really rather not do that if it's not necessary.

I agree with the input so far:
-Turn off salesman switch by front door
-Turn off main battery compartment switch (On many CC's, the switch is located in the fuel filter bay, which next to the battery compartment bay. (not all, but many))
-If your coach has LP, also turn off the LP detector

And if you got your box of goodies documents with your coach, look for the inverter manual for you coach. It will show where the On/Off switch is for that unit.

Hi Don On my coach I had a major draw from one inverter which could not be shut off at the silverleaf panel. My inverter had 4 relays inside. with on sticking closed causing the draw. I had it rebuilt and it works fine. For a temporary fix I shut off the 120 volt input and output breakers for the inverter located in the inside circuit breaker box. Good luck
