Don't grease King Pins ? Why on earth would you not grease King Pins ?

That advice is total bogus. So the axle manufacture just installed zerk fittings so it looked pretty ?

I had the same feeling. In reading the new way (I think) service bulletin they truly say the pins and such are sealed with an o ring. Greasing with a high power grease gun will blow out the o ring and allow dust in. I grease mine lightly until they don't take any grease, gently. Also we bought the coach used and it has been greased.

The grease fittings are for if you take it apart and grease it that way. I am a grease freak and thus I grease. To each his own? I think some is better than none, if o ring dries out dust will be getting in. At 17 years old I can't see it hurting anything.

That's nuts! King pins need proper greasing at regular intervals. Proper greasing includes the right grease and raising the wheels off the ground to allow grease to penetrate the pins themselves the bearings are at each end and have jerk usually top and bottom, three pumps of a gun are normally what I do

It is the suspension knuckles that are not to be greased, not the king pins.

The suspension knuckles have a grease fitting installed for the initial installation. If they are later over greased the o-rings will be blown out and leak. Holland considers this a life time lubrication.

This summer I inspected mine while replacing the tires. Sure enough, someone at some point in time greased them and they were leaking.

If you look in the files section of this group there a four pdf files that reference this.
