Roof Ladders

Yahoo Message Number: 8571
Our new 2004 Allure 36 came without a roof access ladder. I can see pros and cons to having a ladder, but for me I think I'd like one.

Are there different versions available from CC? (I have a call in, but no response yet) Could someone describe them please? Extend all the way down to the "bumper" vs. one with first rung at chest level?

What are other's recommendations?

I will probably have Lazydays order and install it. Are there installation caveats?

Left side vs. right side?

Material of construction?
TIA,
Joe

We had the dealer install the one that Monaco uses that comes with a detachable bottom section. It works but the detachable portion is very light weight. If you carry a step ladder anyway, I would forget the bottom piece.

Whatever you decide, I'd recommend locating it so it doesn't block any portion of the lights, as so many factory installed ladders do. I don't understand how they get away with it.
