Generator Won't Shut Off

At first it was intermittent but now I cannot shut off the generator from inside the coach. It starts right up using either of the interior start switches but neither switch will turn the generator off. I have to go out to the generator compartment to turn it off with the switch on the generator. Any suggestions?
