Message History Observations

Hi Folks,
The subject history summary is as follows. In 2001 this group was created.
By 2009, message count peaked at just over 1000 per month.
By 2017, message count was just over 400.
Why? No new coaches, Existing coaches are wearing out. Owners are
getting older and retiring from traveling. Most all the issues were discussed
and solved in the first 3000 messages.
In another 5 to 10 years, this group will be only useful for searching issues
and their solutions which is hard to do.
What is needed is an archive of subjects and their content that can be easily searched
before this group becomes dormant.

Good info Fred. You're on.

Let's make a deal. You organize relevant related entries/content under key word topics. As Country Coach International publications VP I'll integrate them into our existing CCI Tech Library of 225 items.

I, too, would like to see an Archive of this forums messages in a non-Yahoo format. There is no programming interface available to the Yahoo group's site to fetch each of the 114,000 postings for saving in a database.;

I do have most of the 9200 daily digests in Outlook PST files from for the 16 years I have been the CCO Group Moderator. Again, we need programming to convert their contents to a database.

Possibly too much effort for the future small number remaining users. I see the main reason for rebuilding the database of messages to protect the group from all Yahoo Groups becoming unsupported. But even that would probably be a long while.

Hi Folks,
Some where between the first 3000 to 6000 messages encapsulate 80% of the meaningful posts.
That would be a good place to start. Maybe 10 of the folks that contributed the technical answers could search on their name and save the title and content would be one approach. Those folks could identify themselves.
Maybe Herb could help with the identification. What are some other approaches?
