Battery Compartment Supports Rusting away

Yahoo Message Number: 114814
I just discovered that the support tubing nearest the bay door has completed rusted through and appears like it will all coming crashing down soon. Has anyone had the supports replaced with original steel type tubing or an alternate type steel. A little welder suggested angle iron but to me that doesn't sound like a good fix.
Can anyone advise on expected costs to fix this the right way?

Which service center would be best at repairing this properly. I am in NW Florida.

Thanks.

After 14 yrs I had my original tray replaced by a local welder near my hometown, and he used boxed steel tubing and steel mesh. Primed, painted, and repainted. Looks good and works just fine. Hard to tell the cost because it was part of other repairs at the time. Peace of mind was priceless. Safe travels.

Mine scared me one day too! Original tubing rusted from the inside outward, replaced with angle iron and added two cross members. Never had any problem since..
