Blower SCS Frigette OTR

Has anyone had to replace the blower motor in the SCS Fridgette over-the-road dash heating and air conditioning/ventilation system that's in Magnas of this year (and perhaps other models)? I heard a screech when I turned it on that has gone away for now. It's below freezing and it has not been used for months, but just in case it's on the way out, I want to know what I can do and what it involves. Is it possible to access it and lube it in n place? Is it possible to pull the blower motor without pulling the entire assembly and losing the air conditioner charge, etc? Are the motors available? It was a screech. Sounded like a bearing but I don't know. Blows fine.

The following is my response to a similar question recently posted on the CC Owner's Facebook group:

I replaced one on a 2002 Allure -- located under the front of the coach. Easy to replace. On our coach there are separate motors for the driver and passenger side; one turns clockwise and the other counterclockwise. Naturally, I ordered the wrong one on the first try.

Take a peek up under the front of the coach and you may be able to see the blower motor housings. If so, the motor(s) should be easy to remove and replace. I may be able to find motor model and ordering information if needed. The motors were easily sourced and ordered -- about $60 + s/h back in 2009.

Maybe someone with a similar vintage Magna will respond with more specific info for you.

Thanks Tom. Alas, from what I have learned the Magna has a different set up in the entire box has to come out. Big job.

When Eric Olstrom replaced the blower motor in my 2002 Magna, he removed the entire box from the coach. The A/C system had to be purged and refilled at the time, which may have influenced the process.

I am at Eric Olstroms right now getting the blower motors replaced and yes, the entire unit has to come out.
