Nasty Fluid leak

I have a free leak when warm right around the inspection plug for the flywheel. Whether from there or wicking there is unknown. I have not located the source and I'm in in an area with limited service, at best. So trying to get an idea if I can drive it two hours to service. Obviously need to know what it is first. Inspire '06, Cat C-9 Allison 3000MH. Can you tell me the difference between trans fluid color and hyd color? And don't want to sound too stupid about this, but where is the hyd reservoir? Check level visually from a cap opening?

Update: I ran the coach again and the liquid is "wicking" down the flywheel cover. Good news for potential rear seal issues, so I assume I can eliminate that. It appears to me clear with a very slight tinge of green. Smells a bit like a light version of paint thinner. I suspect it is hydraulic in nature but I have no idea what color hydraulic fluid is or where the reservoir tank is. Driving is out of the question at this point. A flat bed tow is $2000 (100 plus miles from a qualified shop). So doing my best with a mobile RV service, but they are limited too.

Any suggestion most helpful.

I had a similar problem and it was a fuel fitting leak. You sure it's not diesel fuel?

I had a very similar problem with my coach which took a lot of time to figure out. It was not a
nasty leak, but still something that had to be fixed. I was able to drive my coach to WW Williams
in Las Vegas. It was "diesel fuel" leaking down the bell housing.

The problem was a fuel quick disconnect line at the rear of the cylinder head above the starter.
In order to get to the problem they decided to drop the exhaust to get to the fitting.
Maybe, there was a chance to fix it from the bedroom hatch, don't know.

I had a similar problem it was the fitting on fuel return line it was fixed through the bedroom hatch any truck repair place should be able to make the repair.

We also have a C9 2006 Inspire which developed a leak found and repaired by Bob Vinson in Junction City. It was a difficult to access fuel fitting.

There is a fuel line on the back of my c9 cat that I had a leak on awhile back. It up high on back of engine or toward front of coach however you want to call front an back. It dripped down exactly where your describing, where trans an engine are bolted together. Pretty easy to fix after I got the closet doors out an the track removed, so I could take the floor cover off. It was just right there easy to see.

The leak is coming from the fuel pressure regulator that returns fuel to the tank. Country Coach used air type fittings that are push on not made for diesel as everyone can see that has had this problem. The best way is to remove the floor then you can get to the fitting. I removed the old one and used a compression fitting for the plastic line going back to the tank.

I think I just got bit by the same snake... dripping diesel fuel from return line fitting. Definitely going back with a compression fitting.

I also have a fuel leak but not sure if it's the same reason. My leak is coming from the front of the tank. It only happens once in awhile. It happens on warm or hot days. It will drip for one day then not do it again for months. Any ideas if this could be the return line or something else.

I had the exact same problem on my 2003 intrigue. I fought it for two years! It was the return hose on the fuel tank. It was blocked. It only happened when it was hot outside.
Change and will fix the problem.
