Air suspension way to rough!

Yahoo Message Number: 118293
Yesterday I was taking the coach out after being parked for a few weeks. Was in a hurry and didn't let it idle as long as normal. By the time I got out to the road out of the storage lot I felt tha it was riding very bouncy. Not like the air bags hadn't inflated but that they had over inflated. Any suggestions where to start?

Assuming the HWH panel is showing only the green light, check to see that the coach is actually up on the air bags. With the coach on a level surface and the key on, make a "thumbs up" with one hand and put the heel of the hand on top of a tire. The thumb of that hand should be near or at the facing surface of the wheel well. Check all four corners.

Could be a failed or disconnected ride height control valve or a problem with the HWH controller. HWH is good about helping you troubleshoot over the phone but it make take some time to establish contact. They're usually busy, especially at this time of year.

When we had the bouncy front end, like what I'd imagine a buckboard on wooden wheels would feel like, it was the mentioned leveler arms. Our front unit had failed.

If you get underneath, do think about what might happen if the air were to escape/dump from the front bags.... Pull the front tires up on some blocks/stands, for added ease of checking things out - and safety from an air dump.

Best of luck to you,

Regarding a manual check of the ride height using your hand as a measuring device ... making a thumbs-up with your hand as described between the top of the tire and the underside of the wheel well sounds way too high (maybe I just have big hands), but I have found just a fist without the thumb up seems to be the proper height. Just my 2 cents.
And ... as far as contacting HWH for tech support, I just got my call back from them ... I had been in their waiting queue for a call back for 48 days! My understanding is that they have just two people (good people though) taking care of tech support and just imagine how many RVs over the years use some kind of an HWH component or system.
