COUNTRY COACH SURVEY

Yahoo Message Number: 8906
Hi CC owners,

I was a member of this group sometime ago, but unsubscribed because I was on the road. I was a 'lurker' mainly because I wasn't ready to purchase a motorhome. Now it's time to pull the trigger, as they say, and Country Coach is definitely on the short list. So, I'm here to solicit your imput.

Some of the Survey questions I have are:

*Why did you choose a Country Coach? *Would you purchase another CC?

*Are you happy with the Service 'after' the Sale? *What other Brand did you consider and why didn't you buy it? *Is CC willing to make changes on an ordered coach?
I have more questions, but don't want to over burden the group right out of the gate.

Thank you in advance. I do hope this Survey creates a lot of activity here, the more info the better. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
Bob

Service is good 1st year, after that OK at CC rallies but can be difficult if your coach has many problems as ours did.I wouldn't buy CC again because of the needed to beg for coverage of items which shouldn't have continued to be a problem or which were construction mistakes or poor design.

Why we bought our CC:
1. apparent quality...drove it and there was nothing like it
2. parents' had owned a CC for 8 years with excellent service
3. floorplan suited us (no greater amount of bay storage in any other rig we saw)
4. comments from other CC owners were consistently positive
5. considered Dutch Star, Monaco, American Eagles and never had the
same feeling about any of their rigs....yes, they excelled in some areas, but overall in the most important items TO US, CC won out.

Re: driving rigs to compare...just an FYI: some dealers keep coach tires at the wrong inflation for the load which will affect how the coach handles. It can make a BIG diff.

YES, we would buy another CC...but so far, this rig has everything we need (except an extra 2 feet we'd now like...but when we bought it, CA was in their nothing over 40' mode and we have family in CA that we visit often.) However, even the new rigs don't appeal to us...yet. We still have more space for storage and since we fulltime, that's key to us.

It will come down to what is most important to YOU. If you stick with the quality coaches you'll do fine. Enjoy the trip...take your time. You're doing the right thing asking for input from everyone.
You'll learn a lot!

By the way, yes, when we ordered our coach, CC let us "send it off to Davis Cabinets in Junction City for some extra customized cabinetry" before delivering it to NC ...also had heated tile floors put in...that's one of THE BEST upgrades we could have done. NEVER regretted it! DO IT!

We just celebrated our coach's 3rd birthday yesterday...still love it as much as our first look at it.

Happy Travels..

Bob, we just recently (Nov2003) moved up from an American Eagle to a 2002 Magna Interlude from CC. We did it for several reasons: didn't like the new body styles from American although the interiors were nice.
Wanted more of a bus style chassis and more engine.
Our old AE had a Gillig with 300 Cummins, we now have the Dynamax chassis with 515hp Cat. A big difference in ride and handling. The interiors of the CCs have changed in the last few years and they aren't so plain Jane anymore. Also the fit and finish of the bod--full body paint and great gelcoat; and all the addtional mechanical toys on the Magna are very nice.
As with any coach manufacturer, you are going to have some issues and fixups, so far CC has and our dealer Lazy Days has been very responsive. This is our 3rd coach from LDs in Florida and we are very happy with the service, in particular being members of the Crown Club---very nice. We did have some issues with the Magna: panel lights not working, rear slide switch reversed, headlights not working correctly, all were fixed and repaired immediately by Lazy Days.

My previous coach was a CC and what else is there. If I win the lottery an Affinity 770LX would be my choice. The service is the main reason.
Foretravel, they had to shut down their plant and reorganize. They don't make a 295 with 3 slides and a 320 with two slides costs as much as a Magna with four slides and the new Cat engine. Just look at the web site. My Ovation beats a Foretavel 295 hands down and gives a 320 a ru n for its money for $120,000 less. We changed all the outside colors, swapped fabrics, took advantages of options, changed Corian, and I am going to ad a dishwasher drawer. We moved the safe, added another patio light, etc, etc.
