New Test Message Board Update-Login Problems

Yahoo Message Number: 8886
So far, 92 members have registered for the test board, and only 34 have tried a test post.

The feedback has been almost 100 percent positive on setting up a message board based upon the catagory format. We will continue to evaluate several message boards that are based upon this format, in an effort to find the one that fills the bill.
Share your thoughts on what resources you would find helpful in an owner's website.

Some have had trouble getting past the registration for the test message board, or trouble logging on after they have registered.
Here are possible causes:

Email problems. Due to virus and spam, some isp's such as AOL, MSN or Earthlink may be blocking the confirmation email, thinking it may be spam. As a last resort, we can authorize the new member without the email step. Just email me on that one.
Login problems. Check your cookie setting: With IE, it is: Tools/Internet Options/Privacy

Make sure it is not set to "High" or "Block all Cookies". Medium High seems to work ok.

Bill, I have sent you two personal emails (from my cell phone) but I dont know if they went thru. I need some help setting up a wifi (Net Gear usb) in windows 2000. I also tried to call you, is your area code 810? It did not print out well on the CCI Pre-rally list.
Thanks for any help (from anyone else also) as I would like to get it set up. Candace Hollick 2002 Affinity 6129 (for sale)

Some had mentioned that one feature of this Yahoo board they liked was the ability to receive the posts as emails. I have enabled that feature on the test message board.
For now, you can "subscribe" to the entire board, individual forums, or even a "topic". You will get emails showing someone has posted, and the emails will show the subject of the new post. When the board is finalized, it will send the entire text of the post in the email.

Bill,

That could result in a ton of emails sent to individuals mail box's (if they elect that option), unless you can condense them into a Daily Digest like this and other Yahoo sites can do. We'll have to see how it works out. Still not convinced there's a need for two CC forums. I say two, because it doesn't look like members are leaving this forum in favor of posting on the other. This site is still pretty active.

Bob, what do you get in a daily "digest", subjects only, or the text also? I read messages online, so I am not familiar with the email option.

As I said, it is set up so that a person can subscribe to emails from any number of the forums, not the entire site. Can you do that here?

Since the other board has only been put up for comments and opinions at this time, it doesn't surprise me that the other board does not get much use. It was never my intention to have two boards going at the same time, as I have mentioned about 67 zillion times.
If you like the yahoo style of message board, and think it works for you, that is great.

I happen to think that to have a CC owners website, with relative information, including a new style message board, would be a welcome addition. If enough others don't agree, it will not happen.
