Polishing aluminum wheels

Yahoo Message Number: 65656
There was a thread here a few days ago on this subject. It motivated me o get out and polish my wheels, which I had not done for some time. Well, three of them polished up fine. The forth, my driver's side rear wheel, did not. I worked and worked the powerball and Mother's aluminum polish, but it still is not shiny, and feels a little rough. I got some corrosion, and I am wondering what to do. Do I use rubbing compound? Any one had this problem and solved it?

You can first use some sandpaper and start with say 600 and progress to 1000 grit and beyond (wet sanding) and then use the powerball and the Mothers.
