The lighted door handle on our coach is blinking!

I figured it had LEDs for the light. Guess not.

It's acting like ballast is going out.

Anyone had to deal with the light in the handle?

How do I get into it?

Jim, I removed the handle and replaced the bulb plus cleaned out 8 yrs of corrosion. Not sure if your handle is the same since I have an older unit than you. Two chrome screws and the handle came apart. Bulb was in the chrome base? Mine was not difficult to do.
I am foggy on the exact details.

Jim, the electronic ballast and bulb are a combined part in the upper chrome portion of the handle. This is a plug-in part. Simply remove the 2 screws and take the handle off. The wires are tucked into the body behind the upper chrome portion and the bulb pulls out of the chrome top piece. Order this piece from CC Parts, approx 10.00 with freight. You will need to give them your coach number as always. In addition they will ask if the Lucite piece has Country Coach engraved in the handle.

Dave:

Thanks for the information. The blinking light may have been due a low DC voltage. I forgot that I had set the Trace to only 10 amps AC input when we were plugged an extension cord (light duty) at a service shop.

Back here at the camp ground the wife turned all the fans on plus most of the lights.

The poor old Trace could not keep up at 10 amps.

Will wait and see how it does.

It's a bit funny, when it started blinking here at the camp ground my first thought was "How in the heck did my Ham Radio pals get into that thing to send me morse code"

It was to fast for me copy!!

Thanks again.
