Cummins 350 ISC "Safety Campaign 0111"?

Yahoo Message Number: 293
Has anyone with a Cummins 350 ISC gotten word from CC about a "Safety Campaign 0111 for the Air Compressor"? There's been a lot of discussion about it on the Compuserve BB. Apparently CC Dynomax chassis and some Spartan chassis are affected. According to one fellow who checked, the serial numbers of the Cummins engines are: 45876543 to 46066214. It sounds like it's a CC problem to fix, but I haven't been notified and haven't been able to call the dealer since I just checked my serial number tonight and found it is one that falls within those numbers. Shall check on Monday. I wondered if anyone has heard anything about it. If not, it sounds like we need to be aware of it.

Talked with CC yesterday and they confirmed that Cummins will take care of this "Safety Campaign 0111" (Cummins Air Compressor Safety Campaign." According to another posting on another BB, the affected serial numbers on 350 ISC engines are: 45876543 to 46066214. Mine fell within that range and I found that yes, it was part of the "safety campaign." If you haven't checked your serial numbers, you might want to and see if they are part of it. Not a huge issue apparently, but there have been people who had difficulty with the air compressors. FYI. Jan

That's what I was afraid of too, but the Cummins fellow I asked said that what would happen is that I would initially find the power steering would go so steering would be more difficult and then the brakes would be more difficult to work, but that they would stop the coach. He indicated that there were not a lot of problems he had heard of, but that Cummins was addressing this problem up front to eliminate any future problem. We had plans to go to the mountains of NC this weekend and he said that we could go ahead and do it. We're taking the coach in to have the thing fixed next week.

We have 4,000 miles on the coach, planning to travel only 130 miles one way this weekend. No, we have had none of the 'symptoms' of the air compressor problem. They said it is extremely rare. Jan
