Pine Pitch and awnings...removal and protecting?

We're in Crown Villa RV Resort in Bend, OR and have pine trees all around. It's nice to have awnings out, BUT we see they are getting pine pitch on them. I've used hairspray to remove the few spots we found this morning, but don't want to do it ALL OVER the awning. Any ideas of 1. protecting the awning from this stuff sticking to begin with 2. removing it easier once it's on the awning?
(The awning's 3 years old and needs us to renew the waterproofing on it anyway...lots of "stuff" out there to do it with, but would like recommendations before buying more bottles of "stuff" to store below!)

I hope you have better luck than we have with our "baffle" shield. Last week end was the first time we have had the MH out since it was installed and you guessed it....I stayed way back as I didn't want to choke on the cloud of dust it kicked up.

We are still waiting to find out what CC thinks at the reunioin.

This is a problem that should be fixed! CC clearly knows this is a problem of fan running at high speed when it shouldn't be, isn't it time for all who have this problem to let CC know that we aren't going to take it anymore. This is a design problem with the fan controller system. CC replaced my controller, it stopped the dust problem but guess what it caused an engine overheat problem, I disconnected the 6 wire connector to the fan controller, now I have the high speed fan at all times but thankfully the engine doesn't ver heat...I do expect that someday in the future, someone at CC will step up and accept that this is an engineering design deficiency and then the will actually fix the source rather than applying bandaides such as baffles and other non-sense type fixes.
Let's join together and demand a fix to this known problem. CC knows it but thus far refuses to step up and spend the engineering time to fix it.
