KNOWLEDGE IS A POWERFUL TOOL

Yahoo Message Number: 11881
While taking the Magna tour earlier this month (just looking!) I remarked to Shawn the tour guide that I couldn't imagine owning anything but a CC in the future as we had met so many nice fellow owners at the various CC rallies during the last three years it would be counter productive to start over with SOB.
On reflection, and after reading about some of the trials and tribulations of new CC owners I realize my comments applied equally well to the employees of CC and my dealership.
Our experience with the coach initially was good but not perfect. A combination of operator error, lack of attention to detail by prior owner and failure to understand the system collectively caused a less then perfect first visit to the factory. We were also rather green about what happens at CC rallies.........until the first one was over.
Now, three years later we know (reasonably well) the system, how more parts of the coach work and most important, who to go to and how to ask the right questions. As a consequence we will be much better prepared when taking delivery of our next CC.
Maybe I should add the obvious. People are people. Jumping up and down, getting red in the face and yelling rarely gets the quality service or help you seek and yet I have witnessed this type of behavior.
One other comment. As a good number of us are retired or semi retired there is a mis conception about our daily lives. Many of us now have busier and more complex schedules then when we were regularly employed. When planning any factory service visit it is prudent to factor in some additional "down" time, then if the jobs take a little longer then expected your major schedule will not be impaired and you will have time for another factory tour!
