CA Bd of Equalization

Yahoo Message Number: 12043
Several months ago a member of this board posted that they would share the form they used with the Board of Equalization in California.

The form was used to document the time the coach was out of California to get a waiver of sales tax.
Would that member still be willing to share that document. If so please send the document to me at jbinrv @ earthlink. net.
Thank you,

I called the CA Board of Equalization concerning our RV, they said only to keep records (ie receipts) for each day's stay, groceries, etc. If they require anything, they will call you and request a meeting. It is at that time you need to take your documetation proving you were out of the state of the 90 days (this 90 days included the time your rig was in the shop for being fixed - even if you weren't there all of the time - we left our's in Tucson for 60 days to be fixed but came homein the mean time). The time out of state does not include storage time - you must be able to prove you were in the RV with the receipts or the RV was being fixed. This was from one of their Tax Experts -- I'd give you his name but it is in our RV which is being fixed again! (yes brand new 04 Intrigue - we took possession in March). Also, I'm not sure but if I understood correctly this 90 days was going to be a year after October 1st. Oh yes, he did say you could store your RV out of state of the time, but the time was extended to 6 months (this was before the new law came in). You may want to call the Board of Equilation and talk to a tax expert to get the whole story now. Again, this is for a RV registered here in CA, but take possesion out of state to avoid the taxes.

Hope this helps a little.
