Hi,

Poking around the net, I just stumbled on the CC yahoogroup. Am going to have to spend some time reading through the messages.

Is there a "almost antique" CC site? We have a 1989 32 ft SE series SantaFe (Ford 460), Gillig Chassis. Bought it used about five years. I'm still working full-time so don't do as much travelling as we'd like.

When we bought the coach, there were no "Owner Manuals'. CC was of little help. They xeroxed a bunch of pages that left much to be desired. Gilling, on the other hand, provided an excellent manual on the chassis, engine, drivetrain and air suspension systems.
Our biggest mistake was buying a CC as our first motorhome. Why? We have considered trading for a newer model. However, looking at other manufacturers' products within our price range the craftsmanship is pathetic. So we continue with our "antique".
Right now I have two questions that former owners of this vintage may be able to answer.
1.   Where is the TV antenna power booster located. (CC can't help as no one there now was there when this coach was built, and apparently wiring, etc., was installed without any "as-built" drawings.)

2.   Does anyone have an owners manual for this coach? Maybe
gathering dust on a shelf in the attic.

As to the antenna booster, have you checked within the antenna itself? My 99 model has a winegard with a built-in booster. Mine went bad and had to be replaced. Take the antenna apart, if it has an electronic duframis (that's the technical term for all of those little circuit board thingies) then you may want to replace it.
I decided to replace mine with a conventional antenna and add the after-market booster I installed in the TV compartment and is powered by the 12v system. Part of the decision was the lack of confidence in the Winegard system and the perceived advantage of the 12v booster.
The new Winegard with internal booster was significantly higher priced than the 12v booster so it was an easy decision. It seems to work well with the 12v booster.

Dave,

Look in one of the over head cab. behind drivers seat. Should be a white plastic box with a slide switch and a lighter plug on it. It will have a cord with a box with a knob on it to aim ant. At least that what mine has.
