winter..brrrrrr

Here's another tip on winters in the motor homes: When driving in ice and snow....don't!

A couple of years ago I was caught in a snow storm in wonderful Wyoming, the coldest, most God-forsaken stretch of freeway from Rawlins to Laramie. Ice and snow and big trucks were all we could see.
When we arrived in Denver, the ice melted and out came antifreeze. Yup, the radiator was damaged by the ice.

Since then I have spend a little time under the coach for various maintenance and upgrading and I can assure all that these fiberglass motor homes are not built like Prevost or MCI busses.
While Country Coach probably does the very best job of any fiberglass manufacturer, they still have to use a lot of plywood and fiberglass that you don't find under the steel/aluminum rigs.
I have subsequently installed the good old dust baffle that we have covered many times. Hopefully it will protect the radiator a little more, but I can see that ice and snow could still get in and around the radiator if conditions were bad enough.
