Freshening the water tank

In my Inspire's water bay, there is but one place to put water into the water tank. There is a filter at the place where the hose is attached. It appears that the only way you can access the filter is to remove the four screws attaching the place where you attach the hose to the coach. And, it appears that is also the only way I can put bleach, etc. into the water tank to freshen it - to remove that thing.

Has anyone figured out another way to put bleach, etc. into the water tank? Was this design changed in subsequent coaches?

I have called the tech help line and talked to staff here at the service center and this seems to be the only thing that I can do...unless I fill the hose with bleach, attach it to the faucet and put the bleach in the tank that way.

I'd appreciate any ideas.

You got it. I put the bleach in the hose we use to fill the tank.
That way we get everthing sanatized.

You can fill the water tank with freshener by pumping it in from a bucket. Use a short hose in a bucket with whatever mixture you want. Set "Inlet to pump" ; turn on the pump. Water will go from bucket to fresh water tank.

Thanks, now I know what the "inlet to pump" valve position can be used for.

Questions: What so you use as a freshener? What is the procedure - quanity?, flush out?, leave in? frequency?

My coach came with a short hose with no connector on one end and a female on the other. I quess it is intended for this use.

Carol, my '04 Allure has two means of filling the water tank. The pressure hose method and an old fashioned gravity feed. I have not had the need to freshen the tank on this coach yet but in the past I have used the bleach in the hose method mentioned in other posts.

If you have your CC User Guide binder, read section 4 on the plumbing system. If has a procedure for sanitizing the fresh water tank. If you don't have the user guide, let me know and I'll try to get that info to you.

No, not every CC is like that...we have a fill hole that I can easily use to add water/bleach to, but since one has to sanitize the hose also, it's just as easy to do it all in one procedure by adding bleach to the hose, letting it sit (moving the hose around to make sure it all gets "bleached"), then wait a few hours, then turn the water on and "push it" into the water tank that way....etc...
