Battery Boost switch problem

Hi

I need help with an oil pressure sender. On my 02 Allure the house batteries are charged by the engine when it is running. A solenoid switch connects the house batteries to the engine starting battery and this solenoid switch is activated by an oil pressure switch/sender to insure the engine is indeed running when it makes the connection. The sender is shown in the CC manual as a 15 Lb. Oil pressure sender and has CC part # 19655. The picture shows a simple 2 contact switch with a blue wire to the solenoid and the other wire to ground. Here is the problem: The switch on the engine has 3 screw terminals with blue to the solenoid, green to ground and a black wire to who knows where???? I suspect that this black wire runs some idiot light somewhere but I can't find out for sure so I am reluctant to just leave it disconnected.
The best I can tell from OHM meter measurements it is a SPDT switch.
The blue wire contact goes to ground potential when the engine starts (or nearly ground which is the problem. The resistance is high enough so the solenoid will not pull in but if I turn it on with the manual switch on the panel then let that switch up the solenoid will hold in for a while.) The black wire terminal goes from ground potential when engine is off (low / no oil pressure condition which is why I suspect it may run an idiot light) to open when engine starts. The green wire terminal is ground all the time so I assume it is common and switches between the other 2.

Sorry this is so long but it doesn't seem to be easy to explain in just a few words. My question is where can I find a SPDT 15 Lb. oil pressure switch. The threads are 1/8" male NPT. I have sent an email to CCI but wanted to try every source I can for an answer.

Hi Andy,

You got the wrong sender. The one you identified is for the engine ECM - better not fool with it.

The one you are looking for is the OEM sender installed by County Coach. It has only one wire. Check schematic S0699 for dtails and the right wire number.

Andy,

NAPA should be able to supply a pressure switch with 15 PSI set point. I suspect the other two terminals supply the oil pressure gauge. A combined pressure sender & pressure switch will be much less common. CC may be your easy source for a direct replacement. Look in last third of your CC binder for 12 volt systems. Mine has pictures of the two pressure units on engine plus schematic of 12 supply systems.
My Inspire has a 7 PSI pressure switch for battery charge & separate pressure sender for dash gauge. One of the two is source of oil leakage in my Inspire.
