Engine Door-Support Arms

Yahoo Message Number: 13233
Posted two pictures under Engine Door showing support arms that are made of 2 pieces of 3/4"x1/8"x18" aluminum with two holes drilled within 1/8" of the ends attaching to the side of the door opening and the side of the door. Rubber washers are used between the arm and attachment. There is a small angle on the door opening that is over come with the rubber washers. Very little space on the inside of the opening for 1/4" bolt and nut. This is not OSHA approved, but will work when climbing miles of 6 percent grades to let the heat out. If left open, it is a safety hazard and birds will enjoy making nests.
Cheap fix to let the heat out. In the winter, not having louvers will let the engine run warmer. Hope you find it interesting. John 2002 Allure
