It seems like the problems Gary is having, and the problem we all have had come home to roost squarely in quality control and final inspection.
It's hard to imagine CC letting a coach out of the factory with the slide room not fitting. Wouldn't that be obvious to the QC dept? What about the articles we read about how each coach is tested, tested and tested again?
In my case, my coach was delivered to the dealer with a major propane leak. It was clear to me that neither the factory nor the delivering dealer, Beaudry in San Marcos, ever filled the tank and tested the system. As soon as it was filled as I was loading my things into the coach, the alarm went off. A defective furnace was found to be the culprit and they robbed another coach in the last minute scramble. Damage was done to the interior during the same scramble. From there, things went down hill. You know the rest of the story.
Philosophically speaking, these things are like raising kids: You forget all the good things they do and dwell on the bad things. That's human nature I suspect.
The difference is that we pay a huge amount for these beasts and expect to find a minimum of problems.
If we didn't mind battling the inferior workmanship that is common in RV's in general, we could leave a lot more money to our kids and buy a Winnebago or something similar.
Some lessons learned from this old coot....work through the problems, learn as much as you can about how to keep the dang going, enjoy life and don't complicate it by buying a new coach at every rally.
