Gray Water Odor Inside

I think this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it in the archives.

After 4 days dry camping, we had to run about 100 miles before emptying the tanks and they were about 3/4 full each. We had bad odor while driving that continues after dumping. Seems to be the gray water tank and confined to the kitchen sink. P-traps are full of water and the roof vent is OK. There is some sort of valve under the kitchen sink on a vertical pipe plumbed into the sink drains. We have had to run with partial full tanks in the past and never any problem with odor, even on our previous 36' Allure.

Anyone have any words of wisdom?

Tom,

I had the same thing on my ole '95. Problem was my washer-dryer combo. In fact, there was no p-trap installed from the factory for the washer-dryer. I installed a trap, filled it, problem solved.
Take a look....or give your washer-dryer a good sniff. You may be surprised at what you may find.

Tom,

Try putting some holding tank fluid in your grey water. We always use a bottle of fluid in our black water tank, saving a little for the grey water. We flush out the bottle in the sink till it is clean and then throw it away. Never had an odor in either tank. It does not take much fluid to keep the grey water from smelling. We always run 4 days between dumps on the road.
