GPS for Laptop

We have just purchased a new laptop to use with GPS software in our 2000 Intrigue. What software have others used on their laptops and what are the pros and cons?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Folks,

I have used GPS maps in experimental airplanes, but the one I like best for autos is Delorne Street Atlas 2005, you can also purchase a receiver from them at a reasonable cost. Let the fun of the thread on this topic begin!

Well said Fred, as usual ...

I don't like the laptop thing, but that's the fun Fred was referring to. I like a dedicated unit sitting on the dash. I have had Garmin units going back to the GPS40, but now have a GPS 2620. Had a Street Pilot III and loved it.

If you want a laptop unit the Delorme unit is cool, as is the new GPS18 that Garmin offers. I love Delmorme stuff ... I was a beta tester for them awhile back (my 15 minutes of fame).
I do not like the new Garmin software (City Select) which might push me to the Delorme unit (if I liked laptop guidance, heh, heh).

Oh ... too many choices ... too little time.

I have used Delorme for about 6 years and it works well. I now use Microsoft Streets and Trips and find it more user friendly so that's my favorite now.
