Mileage question ...

We just brought Buzz home (IL home) from our home in Florida (Polk City).

Things went pretty well ... got a hot fuel error message (CC said don't worry about it) and the 'check engine' light came on several times, but went out. Handled pretty well, this is our first long trip (1300 miles) after bunches of short trips (Fort Wilderness and Vero).

My big question/comment is mileage ... the Silverleaf dash unit consistanly said from 6.0 to 8.8 MPG (rolling mileage). The last 500 miles averaged 8.5 MPG. Can this be possible ???

This is way better than our Dutch Star (350 hp Cummins) and maybe better than our Journey (275hp Cummins). Is this computer technology at work (electronic engine control) ??
This is pretty impressive. I have not checked long hand yet, but an engine this big pushing a 52,000 lb MH down the road at 65 mpg and getting almost 9 mpg is a good thing.

Someone pinch me here ... I am dreaming ....

The information sent from cat ECM to the silverleaf on fuel consumption is wrong. I have been working with cat for about 6 months they have tried several new flash files none have fixed the problem. If you take actual miles driven [without hydro-hot, or generator on] divided by fuel used you will get about 5.3 mpg cat said this normal

I think you may be dreaming. Our 05 Magna in the beginning said we were getting 10 mpg but when we checked it in a station we only got 7.5. We have been trying to get Silver Leaf to correct the errors at rallies and we are almost there. The next rally in ND will be the final one for this correction. There is an adjustment but it is hit and miss and only they know how to do it. But they are at all the rallies so this works out fine. Each time we go to a rally I get an hour lesson on the silver Leaf, the problem is remembering all the Silver Leaf guy shows me.
One more thing, if one of your inverters shuts down (our coach has 2 inverters, all electric) a lot of things will go haywire. Don't panic just call CC and ask them how to reset the inverters. Ours shut down and we had all kinds of malfunctions for a day before the local teck started checking things out and CC told him to reset our inverters. He did that and everything went back to normal. Nothing in the book about this and the service work was free under our warranty. I'm going to suggest they talk about this at the rally seminars.
