Tail lights on an 05 Coach

Yahoo Message Number: 17111
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing moisture in the tail lights on their 05 Affinity or 05 Magna. I am having a problem and have already had one tail light assembly changed out. But now CC is not wanting to change this one out. Instead they are trying to tell me that they want to drill holes in the bottom of the tail light to "let the water drain out". I am of the opinion that the water must be leaking down from the top, not splashing up from the bottom. So drilling holes in the tail light lens will only create more problems with dirt and more moisture. Does any one out their have an opinion or suggestion regarding this problem? Any and all suggestions and comments are appreciated.

It is never a solution to drill a hole in the lens. The moisture should not be entering the lens. I had a similar problem on an auto. The dealer drilled a hole in the lens and the next thing I knew, I had a badly corroded light bulb socket.

Hi Mike and thanks for the reply. I know it is not a good thing and I have no intention of letting them put holes in the lens....it was just their suggestion for a quick fix. But I want and they will put a whole new lens on for me. I was jsut curious to see if there were any other 05 coaches with this problem. Anyway, thanks again for your response, much appreciated. Dale,

We had one tail light assembly changed out and it is ok now. LDays tried drilling holes but that did not help.

Hi Candy and Dale,

Country Coach must be nuts. You two are one of the best Goodwill Ambassadors that they have. You are always willing to help other CC owners and share your experiences about all the CC's you have owned. Even if it would cost them a few bucks they should do just about anything to keep you satisfied. That is not even taking into consideration what the coach cost. Stick to your guns. By comparision, could you imagine the factory in England telling someone who just bought a Rolls Royce that they were going to drill a hole in the tail lights to get rid of water building up. Hope you get it all worked out and thanks for all the advice you have given us and other newer CC owners.

I'm sure someone will be telling us about their friend that had troubles with their Rolls.

Hi John and Merilee, thanks so much for the kudos....we really do love being Country Coachers. It is very weird when they (service) tries to do some dumb thing like drilling holes where they shouldn't be! Anyway, all being taken in consideration, we still would not own any other brand of coach. Really over all, we have experienced good service from CC and they do go the extra mile to try to make the owners happy. Safe travels, Candace and Dale Hollick 05 Affinity 6370
