6 Pin diagnostic connector for Silverleaf VMSpc?

Yahoo Message Number: 17561
I was wondering if any one could help direct me to the round 6 pin connector to hook up to the Silverleaf VMSpc 6 pin connector? I was told by CC that it was in the panel under the transmission selector, which it is not. I was told that it was then under the dash by Holland, which I cannot find. I have been told that it is possibly behind the kick board in the left foot well that has carpet on it but have not had time to investigate yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Mine's fairly close to the gas pedal on the right, under the dash.

Kary, when I recently took a factory delivery of 51457, techs who were troubleshooting erratic gauge readings hooked up a Silverleaf to a diagnostic port in the rear basement compartment on the passenger's side (more on that in a minute). I was unaware that there was cockpit wiring for Silverleaf in the '05 Inspire. There is surely no place to mount the instrument within the driver's field of view while driving.
Since I was trading in a coach on the Inspire, I stuffed a bunch of transferred odds and ends into the rear compartment. On day 3 or 4 after departure, I heard a loud bang (sounded like a healthy release from the air drier). The next time I opened the compartment a day or two later, I discovered that a "bug bomb" (which I use regularly after a trip before storing the coach) had exploded from the heat in the compartment. Sure enough, I looked beneath the compartment and found the muffler just a couple of inches below. The explosion tore things up pretty well in there. Luckily there was no damage to the compartment walls or door.
Lesson: Watch what you store in that particular compartment. (Country Coach - - A warning label would be handy!!)

Yes I found mine today up under the dash near the steering wheel shaft. I am using the VMSpc software so installing a unit is not an issue for me. I like the flexibility of the software on the PC better than the in dash units.

Regareding the passenger side rear storage area, I had always worried about it being to hot back there. My wife was always wanting to put stuff in there and I was concerned about the heat after our first trip. Hopefully nothing we come of that issue with the heat like you had but it would be useful for them to put a warning in that bay as the heat is high on road trips.

In the Inspire, the round plug is located to the left of the steering column under the dash (it has a cover). As far as where to install the SilverLeaf, mine is installed on recessed on the left side under the headlight switch, and slanting upwards for better visibility. It is mounted flush, requiring that the plastic dash cover be cut to size, and it is supported by a bracket. Works perfectly. Richard

Yes it run well on XP, 2000 for sure as I have tried it. I posted some of the logged data I got from a rather warm trip out into the desert racing. You can find it in these archives or in the "Files" on this site. The Excel file I posted is called "home_to_wsir_072905.xls"

Good luck!
