Duo-Therm AC Service needed: stopped cooling.

Somewhere I read that the servicing of the roof AC is more involved than merely re- charging the compressor with freon 12. Our rear unit stopped blowing cold air a few weeks ago, and while we haven't needed it here in W. Washington, maybe there's something that I could check out before sceduling a service call. And speaking of service, has anyone had experience with Eric's RV? He has facilities at Sequim WA and Quatrzsite.
