Voltmeters again

Been reading emails from past two weeks, and saw more questions of voltmeters and voltmeter accuracies. My best Fluke multimeter is a model 189, costing near $400. It has some special functions for the work I do.

For coach maintenance, a Fluke 179 is probably be better than what 299 in 300 RV service technicians have. $207 @ http://www.tequipment.net/FlukePriceList.asp. Voltage indication error (inaccuracy) @ 11.6 volts DC would be less than 0.0124 volts. It also can measure currents up to 20 amps, so you could find that parasitic load that drains your battery while the coach is stored. The calibration cycle for your use would be 2 years. Fluke offers quick trustworthy calibration services.

Since 1983 I have used, calibrated & repaired many meters of many makes, without having any reason to complain about Fluke products.
