Removing an Intrigue swing-up bay door

Yahoo Message Number: 18275
Has anyone removed a swing-up style bay door from an Intrigue? I was wondering if it is possible to slide out the wire from the piano hinge and remove the door in that way OR if it is necessary to drill out all the pop rivets to remove the door.

Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated.

Bob: I had to remove a door a couple of years ago for repair of some serious "user error" I encountered when I left the door open while loading with the furnace going full blast. Ouch!
I tried in vain to remove the hinge rod. Since the hinge is continuous throughout all doors, it seemed impossible so I drilled out the pop rivets, removed the door for repair and repaint, and reinstalled it. I replace it with small bolts, nuts an washers and it works (and looks) the same as the others.
