Can I drive my coach with a broken ride height valve?

Yahoo Message Number: 18671
If that is what is the problem, that is? There is something wrong with the ride and it doesn't appear to be the solenoid that operates the air bags as they appear to be operating as expected. But the ride is ...thump thump thump, just as it was when that solenoid went bad a while ago. I called the CC techies and Herb suggested the problem might be a ride height valve and I forgot to ask him how far I could drive the coach until I get it repaired. I'm going to take it to Rancho Cordova Independent Diesel for repairs and it will be about a 30 mile drive from here. Or, must I get it repaired where it sits or towed to the shop?

Thanks,

Carol

Carol,

You can disable the ride height system by removing the system fuse. When that is done you adjust the ride heiight manually thru the leveling system and continue your trip at one constant ride height. We once did that for 600 miles until we got back to Lazy Days for new valves. We recently did this for an owner out west and he drove 2000 miles this way. Each morning that we moved we made sure the coach was at the proper height and continued on till we got somewhere to change the valve. I had a spare with us and he had Allstar RV in Denver replace the valve. If you have an Inspire with jacks I'm not sure this will work. check with CCI to see where you fuse is located.

Call CC and they will tell you how to disable system. Itis merely undoing a cable. It will hold the ride height as the person before stated.
