Tires in Junction City?

Yahoo Message Number: 18712
We're heading West to JC. What's the name of the Tire store there, and are they still selling the Toyo? Has anybody recently purchased Toyo tires in JC for their coach?

How much truth to the rumor that CC only uses Goodyear these days? I still see Toyo on the RV dealer lots.
Appreciate the help.

The tire store you want is Les Schwab, just down 1st Ave from CC. We put six new Toyos on our coach last month. CC is changing over to Goodyear tires and Les Schwab is the supplier. We are happy with the Toyos and the service we got from Les Schwab.

I just picked up a '06 Intrigue Ovation and immediately went to the tire store CC uses and put on Toyos. Our printing company has run Toyos for years and based on their performace replaced the Goodyear tires. Our last two coaches also had Toyos.
When we told one of the techs at CC of our decision to change out tires, he said we wern't the first.

CC has changed from Toyo tires to Goodyear because the Goodyear tires are a new design made for RVs and they are all rated at 75 mph. The Toyos were dump truck tires and the 315s were only rated at 65 mph. I also think CC got a better price on the Goodyears to switch. I'm not a big Toyo fan, and if you look at the new toyos that were put on the last toyo coaches from CC, you will see that the 315s are marked for North America - 65 MPH max speed. I think that new labeling may have had something to do with the switch.

Thanks, Larry. I guess CC still approves the use of the Toyo...they didn't express any objections? Will the warranty be through CC or the local tires store do you know? Dave

Anyone such as Larry & Jan who are going to give up their new Goodyear tires in Favor of another brand, please give me a shout and I will run up and get them and keep them as spares, or sell them at the next rally!

Fred, The tires are 12R x 22.5 with an H rating. Six tires balance
and mounted cost $2632.00. If I had replaced with Goodyear it would have been $50.00 more per tire.

Try this site.

http://www.dickmantires.com/ I just purchased tires in Junction City after the Class Reunion. It's true all the tires that I saw on chassis at the plant during the tours were Goodyear. CC people I spoke too said that Toyo wanted to get out of the RV business, so they made a deal with Goodyear. Dickman Tire supplies most of the Tires for CC. I tried to buy Goodyear 275/80R22.5 H rated as a replacement for my 10R22.5G tires, but they were our of stock. They said that most of the Goodyears they get in are 295/80R22.5H, but I would check to make sure they have them when you get there. I went with Michelin XZA3 275/80 22.5 H rated tire and they were $15.00 more per tire than the Goodyears. Toyo's are still available from Dickman and I might add I got very good service from them. Hope this helps. My cost for six mounted and front balanced $2900.00 plus $1400 for the Smartire tire monitoring system for 10 tires
