Storage bay doors

Yahoo Message Number: 18763
I have a problem with a storage bay door on our 02 Allure. I noticed that when I open and close it, the trim just above the hinge moves in and out away from the side wall. It has moved out far enough to break the caulk seal along the top. I first noticed that there is a loud click as the door reaches full open and when closing it stops just short of latching. Have to push it in to latch it.
I opened the door and looked up at the hinge strip, which is a rolled piece of aluminum that curls up inside the tube on the underside to the trim strip. The inner edge of this strip seems to be folding up on its self near the center. If I could take the door off I could straighten things out. It looks like it would take a special tool to reach the folded part and bend it back into shape.

Has anyone had this problem? Have you figured out how to fix it in place or how to get the door off? All suggestions appreciated.

Thanks
Andy
