Squeeky steps revisited

Larry, et al

Having previously replaced the damaged rubber headed bolts in the same holes that Kwikee used, and learning from this forum I probably did it wrong just like Kwikee did,I obtained two more and placed them in the holes above the ones previously used. This resulted in the rubber contacting a flat vertical plate instead of the sharp edge of a horizontal piece. This works. The ones I had put in just a few weeks ago were already severly damaged by being cut into by the edge of steel they contacted. Squeek is gone and I am confident it will remain gone.

Thanks to the forum and, if I remember right, Larry Feather for his good advice.

Glad to here it Lyle. I used the "other" hole too and it's working great! No squeeks and solid steps. Think we should tell Kwikee? I wonder how many years they have been doing it wrong? Happy holidays.
