The correct antifeeze for ISL 370?

Happy Thanksgiving folks! Had a leaky hose and lost maybe a couple of gallons of antifreeze and am trying to find the right stuff to put back in. The stuff in there now is blue. The stuff I bought at Pilot is Orange. Cummins says as long as it has low silicate it's OK once you get the SCAs at the right level. The orange stuff is called "FINAL Charge Global 50/50". On the front it says Cat EC-1 and on the back it gives several specs for different engines. The spec for Cummins says 90T-4 and ASTM D-5345 neither of which match up with the Cummins book that calls for spec # RP 329 or 330. The orange stuff does say silicate free. Any guidance from the experts on whether I can mix the orange stuff with the blue stuff for my Cummins 370? Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving.

The blue should be Cummins Complete, a premix... I would do everything possible not to mix it anyways, and get the same as was factory installed. Most large truckstops have it on the shelf.

CC can tell you which type was installed at the factory. Fleetguard does come in two types. CC installs the Polprolyene because it is safe for human use in coaches with hotwater heaters heated by engine coolant. Your engine coolant may not circulate through your hotwater heater. Cummins uses and installs Polyethelyne, Glycol base and poison. Both are are Fleetguard product and have the additive. Our coach (370 ISL) had the safe type but Cummins Atlantic installed the other. We don't drink our coach water.

If its Propylene Glycol then you can't get it off the shelf at big truck stops, I've tried. Most carry Fleetguard ES Compleat Ethylene Glycol which might also be blue. The only place I have found the Propylene Glycol is at big RV parts centers, ie Beaudry, and the Cummins Coach Care shops.

Thanks for all the inputs. I decided not to use the orange stuff, but could not find the right coolant at FlyingJs, Pilot, Napa, Loves, Wallmart, Advanced auto, etc, etc. The closest Cummins place from where I'm at right now (Ocean Springs, MS)is near Mobile, but they don't open till Monday. Since some of us still work for a living, I need to drive 600 miles back to Florida this weekend, so I put in one gallon of distilled water and it brought it up to the sight glass on the expansion tank. So, I guess I was down a gallon. According to CC book, the system holds 14 gallons total. I figure I can get back to Florida OK and have the whole system flushed and filled at one of the Cummins Coach Care centers when I get back. I have the strips to test the SCAs and the SCA stuff to add if I need to. Any thoughts on this plan? Thanks again for all the good advice.

Larry one gallon of water will not hurt, drive it home, drain the unit your self, flush with flush with water and refill with Fleetguard ES Complete and you are ready to go.

I'm surprised you couldn't find the anti-freeze you needed at Napa as that is where I got mine. Sierra in a Green container. Propolyne Glycol I think that is the right stuff. Maybe they don't carry it in your area.

I was surprised too. I looked at every brand of antifreeze they had on the shelf and they all said "..for automobiles and light trucks..." When asked if I needed help, I was told they had the "pink stuff" and was shown the freshwater antifreeze for RVs. Oh well...! What can ya do? Thanks
