Yahoo Message Number: 19868
Need help, to make a good selection: Looking for the pros & cons between the SilverLeaf 220/240 and RoadRelay 4 electronic systems monitor. I plan on installing one or the other in the coach but would like feed back on any opinions and experiences with each that might be out there with the users

Thanks

Marvin, I do not have either of those units. I decided upon the Silverleaf VMS-pc software/hardware that interfaces with a alptop computer. I put the laptop on the dash and use it soley for speedometer and all other readings because it is more accurate than the guages. If I used the guages I would be panic'ed all the time since they are so inaccurate.

I also liked the fact that I can log the data for a trip on time intervals and can chart them as needed to see any trends, performance, etc... I have posted some charts in the "Files" section if you would like to see them. They are in excel so easy to work with.

We used our PC and the Silverleaf in our previous coach and I sure miss the big readouts. We have the small screen in this coach, but I liked the PC version better. Where is the VCM plug?

Thanks for the feed back.
Sue:

I have three different com drops under the dash on the right hand side, a six pin round, 12 pin rectagular and a two pin data connector, All three have the two data wires.

Kary:

Sounds like a good way to go but for my specific needs I think I will go with an in dash mounting of one or the other units,

Thanks

Thanks, we'll pull things apart and take a look. The last coach had it in front of your left foot, so hadn't looked under the dash yet.

Right hand side under dash area about a 8 in above the floor in the back corner of the back and side kick plates.

If you can't figure out which plug to use, call the Silverleaf tech people. They have the answers.
